Model B serial number 11973 The machine appears to have some European influence. Unlike the Burroughs and the Comptometers, it allows the user the opportunity to check the last number they have entered. The top register is the set-up register. Its only purpose is to allow the user to verify the amount that he has just entered - it does not calculate. The 'space' bar at the bottom of the keyboard clears the upper, or 'set-up' register only. The set-up register can be cleared without affecting the result register. The lower register is the result register, and functions exactly as the comptometers do. The keystroke adds directly into the lower register only. The lever is a clearing lever, which clears both registers. The top register can be cleared separately using the bar on the keyboard. There is no sub-total function. |
